Frequently Asked Questions

frequently asked questions, senior housing

Can you help us find assisted living in the Omaha Metro Area?

Yes! We are experienced in helping families find assisted living facilities in the Omaha metro. We start by meeting with you to assess your loved one’s needs, and then we schedule the tours…and attend those tours with you as your guide! We have the experience to know which questions to ask and what should be considered in your choice. We have taken the time to visit countless facilities in the Omaha metro, as well as interviewed local medical professionals to obtain their opinions of these assisted living facilities. We are qualified in helping you narrow down your selection.

Why use CareMatrix Senior Housing Experts instead of doing the work ourselves?

There are several reasons why CareMATRIX Senior Housing Experts is a good resource for you and your family! First, we have a great deal of experience in the Omaha metro–and we’ve done the research to know the good options versus the not-so-good ones. Second, we have your best interest in mind. We help you and your family find the right fit. We understand that finding the right senior housing options is not a “one size fits all” approach. Third, our experiences allows us to expedite the search process while keeping your budget top of mind. Finally, this process can take time if you do it on your own! We have already done the most time consuming part–the research. Therefore, CareMATRIX is able to efficiently help you through the process.

What's the difference between a nursing home, long-term care, and assisted living?

First of all, nursing homes and long-term care facilities are interchangeable–they provide around-the-clock nursing care.

Assisted living communities, on the other hand, provide 24-hour care AND assistance with daily living activities like dressing, bathing, grooming, toileting and incontinence care, meals, and medication management.

From a price standpoint, assisted living communities are 1/3 to 1/2 the price of nursing homes and often have a better ratio of caregiver to resident.

This is exactly why we conduct a needs assessment to make sure our clients are placed in the appropriate facility based on their needs. In many cases, assisted living is adequate to start.

This is free for us? How does CareMATRIX get paid?

Simply put, we are paid a modest referral fee by the facility the family chooses for the care. We don’t receive bonuses or “finders fees” from the facilities, either. We take pride in the fact that we are not paid by these facilities to place more residents! Our genuine interest is helping families find the appropriate care.
